Billings makes for good invoices

I own a copy of Billings and use it on my Mac. It works great. It is easy to set up with the video instructions. This program can get as detailed as you need it to. I have used it for several months now, with satisfaction. Make sure you have the latest version.

Sophisticated & adaptabe for professionals billing by hour/expense - manual badly needs a redo

A highly sophisticated, user-adaptable intuitive system for professionals billing by time and expense; clearly written by hands-on pros aided by top-notch programmers. Once you get it working, it is awesome in breadth and depth, yet, for all its power, reasonable priced. So why not five stars?
Because it is hamstrung by a chaotic, rambling, disorganized and at times inconsistent 'Guide', making "Billings" seem far more complicated than intended; thereby discouraging rapid acceptance by office personnel. Frustrated, I ended up printing the in-program Help topics one-by-one, like a beta tester ... a needless waste of time and effort.
Once you get the hang of it (though many hours later), the Billings program rates a five-star 'as good as they get'. Much time, effort and thought have gone into making 'Billings' user-friendly and in designing attractive invoice templates. The 'Guide' though, doesn't measure up, and needs a complete overhaul by a professional writer of software guides.
Well worth the money if you are willing to learn it the hard way.

Pretty disappointing for a product aimed at professionals.

After reading many positive reviews of this product and its sister product, Daylite, I bit the bullet, bought this package, Daylite, both apps for my iPad, and the Daylite Server and Daylite Mail Integration packages. I spent a few hundred dollars and thought I had gotten something that would make my practice easier. I had imagined that the implementation would be tough (as I was coming from a completely unrelated system), but I did not expect this product to be so clumsy. First of all, despite my best efforts, I could not get Billings to speak with its iPad counterpart (Billings Touch). So I would spend extra time entering the same information twice or more (when one of the products would lose the information I had already double-entered). Secondly, I could not get Billings and Daylite to talk to each other consistently, so I would end up double (or more) entering information across these two products. All of the literature and the Marketcircle website indicated that the integration was seamless and that entering the data into any of the four products was enough to get it into each of the others. Instead, I have lost billings, missed appointments, and lost client information. I am not happy.
I am abandoning these products and returning to the clunky, but effective, duct-tape and bubble gum system I was using before. At least I know it works.
