Product Description
A comprehensive marine life identification guide on the Maldives in particular, and the Indian Ocean in general, with over 1000 colour photographs. It covers a wide range of the most commonly seen invertebrates and illustrates the extraordinary diversity and colour of the natural environment of the Maldives. It should be useful as a reference for scuba divers, reef walkers and snorkellers, as well as for aquarists and students of marine biology and natural history. The volume is based on scientific classification, and there is a full glossary that explains any reference to scientific terms. The main chapters cover marine plants, sponges, Cnidarians, flatworms, segmented worms, Molluscs, Crustaceans, Echinoderms and Ascidians, and there are further chapters on reptiles, sea birds and mammals.
