Product Description

Amazon Review

Mousemaid Mariel is washed up on the beach on the shores of Mossflower. With no idea where she is, or indeed who she is, the young mousemaid embarks on an unforeseen adventure that will take her to the very heart of Redwall and into the arms of the people who live there.

Mariel of Redwall is a captivating and magical adventure story in the Redwall series by Brian Jacques. At times gentle, but mostly packed with adventure and heroism on the grandest of scales, this tale is at once delightful and devastating in its proportions.

As Jacques weaves his customary magic and takes the reader to the heart and soul of the mythical Redwall--welcoming, terrifying, magical and, at times, all too real--the place, the characters and the adventure spring to life in a bout of indefinable magic, mystery and mayhem. An excellent book that will leave readers begging for more. --Susan Harrison

Review

He is a wonderful storyteller, immersed in his own kingdom (Guardian )

Not since Roald Dahl have children filled their shelves so compulsively (The Times )

For those who enjoy a fast-moving, gripping adventure story, this is surely the one (Daily Mail )

I loved this book, Mariel is a really good character, especially if you like girls who take no nonsence and stand up for themselves. Every time I read one of the Redwall series I can't put the book down untill I've finished it!

Mariel of Redwall is a wonderful book. It is about the mousemaid Mariel. She has vowed to kill Gabool the wild. Mariel may only be a mousemaid but she knows what she wants and how to get it. Meanwhile at Redwall abbey they are having trouble. Greypatch (one of Gabool's former captains) is attacking Redwall! The redwallers don't know what to do. Joseph (Mariel's father) is also having trouble. He is held captive and won't be released until he has made a bell for Gabool...

Mariel of Redwall is a fantastic book. Her determination is a lesson to us all. Brian Jacques creates a world that is up there with Tolkein, C.S. Lewis, and Watership Down. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars It was good.
I thought this was not Brian Jacques' best Redwall novel, but it was pretty good anyway. I think that if you like Redwall books this would just as good as some other ones.
