I use this book almost weekly and that has to be the best thing you can say about a cookery book. In fact we are having the parmesan crusted chicken tonight! There are a few recipes I gleaned from this book that I used loads while single that I now use for me and my husband too, and he is pretty picky. The only downside of this book is the measures are not UK, so given in cups, etc, but I think there is a conversion table at the back. Also, some ingredients are given international names (bug tails) but alternatives are given too.
The recipes are simple, and not deceptively so, and beautifully photographed (I never understand why people complain if their dish doesn't look like the pic - it takes photographers and professional food hygienists/stylists to make it look like that, people!)
The organisation by time rather than dish is great, so you're never tempted to take on a recipe you won't have time to complete. And the quickest and simplest dishes you won't even need the book for after a while. I have owned this book for more than five years and still have tons of recipes to try. I can't say that about anything other than perhaps a few much-loved Jamie books. I adore this boook and the fact it covers everything from indulgent puds and posh-looking mains to simple fresh and low-fat dishes.
More like it, please!
