The MTV unplugged concert was of Mariah in her very early days, and was shot live at Kaufman Astoria studios New York on March 16 1992, she performed songs from her self titled debut, as well as back then her latest album `Emotions', the concert vocally is absolutely flawless, and when you watch it you can definitely see why it stunned critics who suggested that Mariah couldn't sing live, and was not a live performer.

The set list starts off with the upbeat `Emotions', very well performed the high notes are perfect, next it's a lung busting performance of `If Its Over', defiantly one of my favourites from the concert, after that `Someday', I loved the perfectly pitched & delivered high note at the end, as well as feeling the energy of the performance, again one of my favourites, same with the next song `Vision Of Love', a more laid back version but still extremely good vocally, `Make It Happen' again perfectly performed and fantastic energy, the most well known performance from the concert, Mariah's rendition of the classic Jackson 5 song `I'll Be There', in my opinion I think Mariah's rendition is better than the original because it was a better vocal performance, and finally the last song of the night was `Can't Let Go' which was an encore, this performance was not bad at all actually, again it was a slightly more laid back version than the original.

If you like Mariah, you will love this. I have this on video, but when this was released on DVD l was so pleased. This is Mariah at her best in her very early days. All those people who said, at that time, Mariah could not sing in a live enviroment were shot down in flames when this unplugged gig was recorded. I just wished l had been there. Every track is brill, but l have to say "If it's over" and a duet with Trey Lorenz singing "I'll be there" are the out of this world. Apart from looking drop dead it's a brilliant DVD. Enjoy.

This is my favorite of Mariah's 3 early live concert dvd's. As this is her first live concert performance she has a shyness, pureness and joy of performing that makes it a pleasure to watch. Her voice is amazing but she has still has not reached her peak vocal capabilities at this point. The concert has an intimate feeling and is well filmed. If you were to buy only one early Mariah live concert video, this would be it.

I'm not a big fan of Mariah Carey but bought this for my wife who had the original video years ago. I have to say, this live dvd is phenomenal, I defy anyone who listens to the first few bars of the first song and not be blown away. Completely live, the band, backing vocalists and Mariah are outsanding. Superb on every level. I never usually write reviews but I had to come on here to say that this dvd is awesome. If you are thinking about getting this, don't think just get it!

If you want to see Mariah Carey letting rip at full throttle then this concert is for you - it was certainly to the liking of the audience who cheered her on as she belted out songs in a way that few other people can.
This was a bit like seeing her first performance at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem where the crowd got up on their feet as she sang Vision of Love.
My favourite song was I'll Be There which was originally sung by the Jackson Five. However I thought the three music videos on the dvd were visually uninteresting. If you want to see Mariah Carey in her first two years as a professional singer then this dvd is of interest from that point of view.If you want to see her singing in more visually striking surroundings then get the concert from Maddison Square Gardens.
