Margaret Vodopia Carroll began reading mysteries and thrillers in middle school on Long Island, when she was assigned a seat at the back of the room during English class next to a full set of Sherlock Holmes. She went on to discover Dorothy Sayers, P.D. James and Ruth Rendell. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and began her career on Wall Street, covering the aviation business before moving on to luxury travel and corporate P.R. Her career involved travel, especially to the UK, which is her favorite place besides home. She draws on her experience as a travel writer to give her novels a vivid sense of place. She currently has four books in print, including two thrillers and two romances. She is currently at work on a series of small-town romances; the first two are set in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and Santa Fe, New Mexico. She resides with her family in Michigan with a Scottish Terrier named Buddy, who is known to all who walk by.
