2 for the price of 1 21 Aug 2011
The item arrived in a very large (pretty heavy) box, well secured with parts sellotaped inside - the box needed breaking to get into it and check the parts!!!

It was really easy to put together with clear step by step instructions (pictures as well). Some screws were already inserted so you didn't have to root through a big bag of them which was a big time saver.

I managed by myself for the most of it, just needed help securing the tension rods together.

As for a workout....well, you get 2 for the price of 1!!!!! No moving from one machine to the other like in the gym. Although it does say to take the seat out if you are using the elliptical aspect I leave it in and it doesn't get in the way. The digital readout is clear like most machines in the gym, and you can set it to display one mode larger or have it flick between them all.

It does squeak a little bit on the lower tensions, but all in all it is a great machine for a bargain price.

Came flat packed in a huge heavy box but despite the lack of a 'man about the house' I managed to put the thing together single handedly. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. It does come with a couple of allen keys and a couple of spanner tools (like the ones you get in a bicycle repair kit) but I would recommend using proper spanners, much easier on the hands. I do have a couple of washers left over - no idea where they're meant to be!
I spent 40 minutes on it today alternating step and cycling and certainly felt like I'd had a good workout. The display is large and easy to read and gives you the usual speed, time, distance, calories, heart rate readings etc.
I am still trying to find the optimum position for my feet on the huge foot pads in both modes but I think it's just a matter of getting used to it. It's a pretty solid piece of kit but does creak a bit when being used, not as robust as the machines you would find in a commercial gym but then it's only a 10th of the price! It felt stable even when I was cycling like a loon and I think if you go round it occasionally to make sure all the nuts and bolts stay tight it should do the job.
Overall my first impression is a good one.

Great piece of kit 4 Oct 2011
I was worried the cycle/cross trainer wouldn't be very sturdy but it is quite substantial. It does creak and squeak when you use it but it 'does what it says on the tin'. It was quite easy to put together although the pack contained two right handed bolts rather than one left and one right but they quickly posted the correct one. The equipment needs a fair bit of space, I have mine in the garage as it has a concrete floor and that gives it some stability. I doubt it would work well on carpet. I have not been able to get the pulse monitor to work but everything else does. Good value for money.
