I've always read MR books, though this is more out of a habit that dates back to my 20's when I read her avidly, and collected her back-catalogue, rather than because her recent books were excellent. At best, the last couple were ok, and in fact I was of 2 minds whether to get this book, and I am so glad that I did.
This tale firstly is believable, and the circumstances that forced the leads apart 6 years ago is plausible, and supported by the blackouts that Allessandro is suffering from. Both he and Cassie are likeable and the passion that burned between them before ignites pretty much straight away, in a way that the reader can 'get' despite their past history and break-up. There are only about 3 love scenes, and not as descriptive as MR's normally are, but they suit the story, and the HEA is well-deserved by Sandro, Cassie and their twins. This is a really 'lovely' story, one that I can see myself keeping and reading again, not a sell-on! I hope that MR continues to write like this again, and that she writes more books a year - 12 months apart is FAR too long...
