While 1:200 000 maps have their limitations when navigating the countryside and tricky compound road intersections, this was the best and clearest I found of Umbria. Although it is perhaps a question of personal preference, I found this to be easier to read than the Touring Editore "Umbria e Marche" Number 8 which covers a similar area. Generally the Michelin map mentioned more hamlets and gave a better indication of their size. However, be prepared for a flurry of roads signposted to places which do not merit a mention.

Quality as expected from a Michelin map. Once in the area covered by the map it enabled us to find our way around easily.

Useful map that does what you expect. Best feature of Michelin maps is the way distances are shown on the actual roads but, for detail, nothing like an Ordnance Survey map. Be warned that a white road can be a perfectly decent B road or an untarmaced best suited for a 4WD.
