If you like folk music, unaccompanied voices or just appreciate pure musical brilliance, then this album will not fail to move you. From the opening note to the closing cadence, it is superb. There is not a weak track on the entire CD. If one stands out above the others, to my ears it is The Parting Glass, an Irish song perhaps an emigration song, powerful harmonies, emotional and beautifully executed. The Banks of the Bann and Annan Waters come a close second. Some of the other songs are joyous and uplifting but all come complete with acapella harmony singing of the highest standard.

A good set of recordings of this fantasic group. They perform at a level rarely attained by any peformers in any field of music. A real treat for all music enthuiasts, but especially folk and acappella lovers. Don't take my word for it, buy the album! you will not be disappionted.

Listening to this reminds me of traditional sessions in Carberrys pub in Drogheda in the 1970s/80s where Gerry and Fran were regulars. The cd has fine renditions of seasonal songs such as Kilmore Carol and The holly she bears a berry. Personal favourites are Oh good ale and an excellent reading of The Parting Glass. They are back gigging again which is wonderful...if you cant get along then this is a great way to hear the music.
