5.0 out of 5 stars A real friend 4 Jan 2010
Format:Hardcover
This book helped me through my lambing experiences and made me understand that it was not down to luck but down to good, practical shepherding that produces good lamb percentages. It was like having a friend with me all the time and this is the one book that never ever let me down every time I consulted it for an answer to a question. I could not recommend this book more highly.

Erm. I know nothing about lambing. Don't even want to know about it. But my daughter is very into farming and wants to study it at Uni. She loved the book and promptly went of lambing. The people that own the farm were impressed with her knowledge - so thats a superb recommendation for the book. If you like lambing and want to know more about it - this is the Bible!

5.0 out of 5 stars Practical help in the lambing shed 19 Mar 2002
Format:Hardcover
Two ladies give practical advice on how to get live lambs out when they are ready. You know they care about the ewe and her lamb.
Drawings are superb .. by medical illlustrrator who knows how to get you to see that lamb stuck inside.
We keep it to hand and have more live lambs with their help.
A book that is of practical help.

4.0 out of 5 stars Educational & Practical 4 Jan 2014

Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
A very useful book to refresh yourself with before lambing. Covers most of the things that you will need to consider and prepare yourself; before, during and after lambing. This book is ideal for students studying Agriculture or Veterinary science's etc. Equally this book is ideal for anyone with a keen interest in sheep.

As mentioned above this book covers 'most' of the information that should be read-up on, before jumping into the lambing pens. Two great books that compliment this one are:

Sheep Health, Husbandry and Disease: A Photographic Guide
Practical Sheep Keeping
