Product Description

The Manual of Bean Curd Boxing is a book that introduces us to a new perspective on Tai Chi and 21st Century Living.

Using the harmonious practice of Tai Chi Chuan and the esoteric philosophy of Taoism, the book describes how to discard traditional ways of GETTING THINGS DONE by stripping everything down to its essentials and then, leaving them all alone.

This manual will show you:

* How to reach out and grasp life with more energy, with more passion and with more wisdom.
* How to absorb the simple lessons of Taoism and Tai Chi into your daily activities with no sweat and no stress.
* How to learn to get out of our own way, so that life can pursue its natural course
* How to remain tranquil and calm under the stress of daily life and yet stay intensively connected to the world around.

Whether you are a beginner to Tai Chi and Taoism, new to these ancient disciplines or an Intermediate student looking for a new approach to your practise, The Manual of Bean curd Boxing will aid you in this ancient yet contemporary art of doing, without doing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tai chi, no secrets, lots of common sense 1 July 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I have been playing tai chi for nearly 15 years now and teach my own class. I have read many books on Tai chi over the years, but can't remember being inspired by any of them as much as 'the manual of the Bean Curd Boxer'. This should be a "must read" for anyone thinking of taking up Tai chi, or indeed like me, has been playing for some years. Barry Clinton. Sheffield UK.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful introduction to Tai-Chi 30 April 2013
By Clive
Format:Paperback
To me Tai-Chi was what old Chinese people did outside in the park before breakfast but I wanted to find out more. Paul's book is a wonderfully clear, explicit and amusing introduction to something much deeper than a simple exercise regime. I shall take it further and learn how to walk like my cat.

I have been practicing and teaching Tai Chi for a couple of decades. I have read countless books on the subject but this one is by far the best. It brings humour and reality where others bring seriousness and deep rooted detail. For those who like history and prefer details then this is a great read and if you prefer the big picture then this is a great read too. In short I loved the book as it confirmed what I always believed in and that is that Tai Chi need not be entrenched in detail and Chinese manuscripts but opened up into the 21st century and enjoyed by all at whatever level. If I was to write a book on the subject I would have written this one..........Thank you Paul Read for an exceptional read. I am going to encourage my new set of students to buy a copy.
