I bought Mantra Meditation and Healing Mantras and plan on buying ALL of Ashley-Farrand's books. I started out saying a mantra for abundance b/c naturally as humans most of us believe material things are what we need to feel happy, but after a half an hour I realized the mantra didn't resonate with me, but through saying it I realized my loved ones are more important to me, so I started saying one for healing for my husband who has been suffering from chronic pain since 2001. His illness has affected every aspect of our lives and relationship.
The mantra (Om Apadamapa Hataran Dataram Sarva Sampadam, Loka Bhi Ramam Shri Ramam Bhuyo Bhuyo Namamyaham) also known as a "freight train" mantra seemed to heal everything that needed healing within myself and my relationship with my husband. He really opened up to me and told me some very sweet things he's never said to me (and we've been together for ten years). He doesn't even know about the mantras.
My internal anger disappeared and my hatred of my new neighborhood (we just bought a house and I hated the neighborhood and my snobby neighbors) disappeared and we decided to not sell our home but rather cherish it as a blessing. I didn't just feel hopeful, I felt empowered to reach my goals finally. The intro to Mantra Meditation is an excellent lesson in the power we have over our own lives.
The mantra is always with me. I find m/s saying it in my head like a song you cannot stop singing. Instead of day dreaming I say it on the walk to work, or while waiting for the bus, loading the washer, cleaning my home, before I go to bed and as soon as I open my eyes in the morning. They really become a part of you.
I definitely recommend this book and Healing Mantras. I never want to be w/o them and will use them for the rest of my life. Ashley-Farrand does a great job in Healing Mantras of teaching the reader/user how to properly pronounce the mantras. I have looked around my local area to see if I can find anyone else who writes about what TAF does and have found nothing locally. TAF keep up the great work!
