I am a big Aliki Viogiouklaki fan from a young age. I've always enjoyed her spirit--the way she lit up the screen. This film is perhaps her best. It's one of her more dramatic roles where she displays the versatility of her acting skills. The music, also, is superb. The songs of Theodorakis are exquisite and beautifully sung by Viougiouklaki. They have a sad, almost haunting quality that leave you mesmerized. I only wish there were subtitles and extra features on the DVD as it would have been nice to share this wonderful film with my English speaking friends and family.
