The noosphere, identified in the early twentieth century as intrinsic to the next stage of human and terrestrial evolution, is defined as the Earth’s “mental sphere” or stratum of human thought. Having read and heard snippets about the 'Noosphere' theory I was keen to delve further into the subject and relished the opportunity to gain some insight via Jose Arguelles's Manifesto for the Noosphere.
I had not read any of late Arguelles' work prior and was pleased to find his writing and way of explanation was not overly technical and easy to grasp. Although some of the mathematics left me a little cross-eyed, I'm sure those more number orientated than I would welcome this information.
The main aspect to this book that resonated with me was that of the spiritual - I felt as though I was remembering the information and ideas shared by Jose rather than learning about them for the first time. Jose explains his theory on the past and current trajectory of our evolution, as not only a planetary - but cosmic - whole, beautifully. I spent most of my time reading this book nodding in affirmation of the truths Jose shares and felt inspired by his awesome vision for the future (cue neck ache!).
I was delighted to find that this book not only deals with the idea of the Noosphere as something abstract and 'out there', but as part of a conscious reawakening / a spiritual journey back to Source or the 'Supermind' - fascinating to say the very least.
I look forward to sharing Jose teachings and ideas with my friends while continuing to choose unity consciousness over the ego(oo).
I would thoroughly recommend this book to anyone seeking truth, understanding and enlightenment. You won't be disappointed!

Jose's last book

I shook Jose's hand for the last time, nearly a year ago on the Day Out of Time in Vancouver, BC where he was giving a talk at the Prophet's Conference. At that time he was interviewed by a rather edgy Daniel Pinchbeck who seemed unwilling to be swept into Arguelles' vision.
And yet, less than a year later Pinchbeck's group publishes this book, which turned out to be his last (at least until Cosmic History Chronicle Volume VII manifests).
It's a lucid explanation of the biosphere - noosphere transition in relation to the Law of Time and it is a tribute to the genius of this man that he was able to consolidate an entire lifetime of study and experience into so few pages.
Highly recommended as an antidote to the hysteria surrounding 2012.

I read this book in galley form and forgot to post a review after the pre-order period ended. This book was a direct inspiration to my own forthcoming book from the same publisher that I am evidently not allowed to link to here at Amazon, The Open Source Everything Manifesto:Transparency, Truth, and Trust.
