Revenge of the Dead Cop part 2!!!!, 20 Aug 2008
Well, it left the possibility of a sequel at the end of of the first one, so here's where the body count stacks up even more!!! Matt Cordell is back from the dead to reign his brand of justice. No chance of parole, or time served!! Just a swift, brutal execution his way!!! If you loved the first, then you will enjoy this one. The dvd is full screen, what an injustice as this was shot in the widescreen format, two trailers & a scene gallery. We can only hope that very soon a brand new release the way we like it!!! Non-stop thrills , enjoy!!!!

A PRETTY GOOD FOLLOW UP TO MANIAC COP, 23 Dec 2004
This review is from: Maniac Cop 2 [DVD] [1991] (DVD)
I just watched 'Maniac Cop 2' for the first time in about 10 years and I must say, it was pretty good!. I'm a big Bruce Campbell fan, and like the first film a lot. I could remember little bits of the film since I last saw it, but was thinking it's still probably won't be as good after all these years, but I was wrong. A pretty good cast. Robert Davi, Claudia Christian (whom I saw at a convention in 1999, and she looked even more stunning in real life,in a beautiful blue suit), Leo Rossi and many others. I definitely recommend this movie to all the fans and just horror fans in general-A must see!

Superb, fast paced sequel!, 26 May 2011
This review is from: Maniac Cop 2 [DVD] [1991] (DVD)
Lustig made his horror debut with the sensational exploitation film Maniac in 1980. Lustig also followed this with a low budget revenge film Vigilante before directing the genre classic Maniac Cop in 1988, which was written by Larry Cohen of It's Alive fame. After a number of fun but unmemorable action vehicles, Lustig returned to direct Maniac Cop 2, a brilliant and enjoyable horror sequel that resurrects the Maniac Cop for some more slaughter. Maniac Cop 2 picks up a couple of minutes before the original ended, with the Cop himself, skewered in the chest and in a van moving at high speed, driving off a Marina into what would appear to be a watery grave. Only thing is, the Maniac Cop survived and now he has a purpose - to kill those who murdered him and he gets some help from a deranged serial killer who has been targeting strippers. For fans of Lustig, the Maniac Cop franchise or action/horror in general, this is a must see. Robert Davi (the villain from License to Kill) stars as the detective after the Maniac Cop, and Claudia Christian plays Susan, a police psychologist who begins to question her own sanity after seeing Cordell in action. Also making a relatively short appearance is Bruce Campbell and Danny Trijo as a convict. In my honest opinion this sequel was way better than the first film, it certainly ups the action sequences. Of special mention there is a truly superbly staged assault on a police station when Cordell crashes in (literally!) to liberate a deranged serial killer whom he has formed an acquaintanceship with. This scene easily surpasses the very similar sequence from The Terminator when big Arnie performs his own inimitable attack on the police station in that movie. The spectacular finale here too set a new stunt record for the longest full body burning and it is truly a sight to behold! Immensely entertaining and filled with crowd-pleasing gore, Maniac Cop 2 is an excellent sequel to a genuine cult classic. The dread-like suspense of the first is traded in for more blatant scares and there isn't enough Bruce for my liking, but this still showcases Lustig working near the top of his game. Highly recommended!.
