The Borch Manhattan map covers all of Manhattan, and it has closeups of Midtown and the Financial District. It doesn't cover the other boroughs, other than small slivers of the adjacent ones. So if you need more general coverage of all of New York City, this one won't do. This map is large compared to most other laminated travel maps, but is not quite as large or detailed as some of the non-laminated maps that you can buy almost anywhere for $5. Everything is printed large and spacious, making this map pleasant and easy to read - good for those who have poor reading vision. It labels attractions, many important buildings, subway routes and stops, and it has a climate chart.
This map is made of laminated paper; it is water repellent, but not waterproof. If the edges or folds get wet, water can wick in underneath the lamination and wet the paper. If you want truly waterproof, there are some others out there printed entirely on plastic.
