I was given one of these for my first child (now seven) and it quickly became one of his favourites, and would go wherever he went (in his rocker, his crib, his cot, his play gym, his car seat... etc etc) - he loved it from newborn through to the time he started walking. His sister inherited it and loved it just as much. It survived the rigourous attention and chewing of both kids, and when I finally got rid of all my baby things, it was still in really good condition. Shame I didn't have a crystal ball and know I was going to have a third baby!! But when he joined us two weeks ago, this was the first toy I bought him as it really sticks in my mind as being one of those classic toys that kids don't tire of. This one seems to be as good quality as the old one I had, although its spiral is a bit tighter (hopefully it'll loosen over time). My newborn is showing a lot of interest in the mirror and the spiral / face in particular, and the chime has a lovely gentle sound that doesn't jar like a lot of other little baby toys.

Agree entirely with above review. The pull out mechanism broke after only a few uses. The spiral looks as though it should stretch eg around a car seat handle or buggy handle. However it remains bunched up and hardly extends at all, making it difficult for your child to reach, unlike the image which appears to show it extended. For the money I thought it was very poor value. There are much better developmental toys around.

My little boy loved this on his infant car seat, as soon as he was at the age where he was more aware of things he'd be captivated as soon as we put him in the seat! It was great for developing his hand eye coordination as well because he very quickly learnt to reach out for the brightly coloured toys. Now that he's in his forward facing seat we've wound it around his cot bars and he still plays with it now. I've only given it four stars as I agree with the other reviews that it is too tightly coiled and could do with being looser. An ideal buy for a car seat toy though.
