I, Mangala Gouri, am an Indian woman, wife and mother, and work as a lecturer in the Indian Himalayas with my lecturer husband and a Tibetan pooch, Lily. Our son is away in college.
I have written seven books, all of which are available in Amazon--"The Night That Changed Everything", "The City of Widows & Other Stories," and "Aparajita-The Woman Who Fought Back, And Won," "The Fire Sermon," "The Jungle of Jola-Thach & Other Paranormal Stories," --"Mira, The Woman Who Survived, and Won". All the books offer insights into the life of Indian women-their resilience, grit, and hope in the face of hopeless odds, bringing alive the institutionalized exploitation inherent in our country, and to question both the stoicism of Indians and the apathy of the world community to needless suffering. More of my books will be 'out' soon, as I wish to write, write and write, till I die.
I chose a romantic adventure for my latest book--Love Rocks! Everywhere! Always!--and as it is set in the remote valley of Spiti in the Indo-China border, a cold desert which few people have visited, I added the pictures of the valley--a first for a book of fiction, to the best of my knowledge.
