Love the art work, The size is perfect to take out, one down side is the little booklet that comes with it is really rubbish and explains nothing

Superb Manga-Stylized Mini-Tarot Deck 6 May 2009
By Neko-san - Published on Amazon.com
This is a mini version of the Manga Tarot. Riccardo Minetti's concept and Anna Lazzarini's artwork are superb in this comic-book stylized tarot deck. If you can get past the name of this deck, you will be rewarded with an original deck of the Rider-Waite-Smith (RWS) Tarot's tradition. This deck may have been drawn in a manga style, but these are not your usual Big Eyes, Small Mouths characters.

This deck have several traits that I found appealing. First, some of the cards have been renamed:

. The Magician --> The Sorceress
. The High Priestess --> The Priest
. The Empress --> The Emperor
. The Emperor --> The Empress
. The Hierophant --> The Priestess
. Wheel of Fortune --> The Wheel
. The Hanged Man --> The Hanged Woman
. The Star --> The Stars

This is because of the swapping of traditional male and female roles throughout the Major Arcanas and the Court Cards. Also, the numbering of Strength and Justice had been swapped, following Thoth Tarot's tradition. Strength is 11 and Justice is 8.

The Court sort of follows Thoth's labeling, but the gender swapping continues on them.

. Page --> Prince
. Knight --> Princess
. Queen --> King
. King --> Queen

However, the artwork and interpretation is still akin to the RWS's tradition.

The artwork is original, deviating from the traditional rendering of the RWS deck, but following its interpretation. The use of red, blue, green and yellow in backgrounds is interesting. Swords are bluish, Wands are redish, Coins are greenish, Cups are yellowish, and the Major Arcanas are assorted with these. It is interesting to note that The Fool is grayed out.

If you like pocket-sized decks, this is a great deck for tarot collectors and manga fans. It comes in its own fitting box and includes the usual Little White Book.

Mini version of an easy to read tarot deck 21 Sept. 2009

I already own this deck and I wanted to have the mini deck so I could take it with me to work and on the train. The cards are based on Japanese culture and have images for all the cards including minors. The images are clear and the line drawings are well defined. The print is small enough to be difficult for me to read in dim light. Mini cards measure ~1.75" x 3.25".

The LWB is in 5 languages and is condensed. The mini LWB does not define the seasonal runes that appear on the cards. The only other difference is the back of the cards is black not brown like the standard size Manga tarot deck.

That aside, I like this deck as much as the other one.
These cards are GREAT. 20 Mar. 2013

These cards are great...I like to use a mini deck when you don't have much room to do a reading and this deck is perfect. I have many decks and this will be one that I will want to use all for each reading. I have several desks from this company (Lo Scarabeo) and they never disappoint me with the quality of their cards.

The art work on them is outstanding. They came in mint condition with double wrapping. I will use this vendor again. It means a lot to me to get a great product at a good price and they deliver that.

They came quickly and packaged correctly so nothing was damaged in shipping.
Beautiful, functional, and unique deck. 29 Jan. 2014

I love the art of this tarot deck ... decks are very personal items, though, and I know it may not be for everyone. The genders of a lot of the Major Arcana are reversed, which might make reading difficult for tarot aficionados who are already familiar with the cards. I used this as my study deck while self-teaching myself a course, however, and as such I have begun to learn it from the inside out. The art offers a lot more cues to the more subtle meanings and symbolism behind the cards, and is great for intuitive reading... and the small size makes them easier to shuffle.
Great Mini Deck 23 Mar. 2015

When they say mini - they mean mini. It's a beautiful deck. Artistically done. Beautiful colors and beautiful lines. The images really evoke the meanings they portray. Elegance, beauty and insight. Exactly what they are meant to be.
