Unlike most of the how to draw manga series, you are not presented with a picture of an alien sniper/water fairy/angel soldier, and be expected to work out how to draw it for yourself. You have the basic guidelines, and the author shows you the step he took to create the drawing. In fact, I have not encountered a book in the how to draw manga series that shows you so many different fantasy creatures in one book, and actually show you how to draw them.
The only bad part? Each different character is only shown in one postition. Nearly all of the charecters and creatures are only in dynamic poses, so there is not enough to make a proper manga, only actions scenes and pin-ups. If you copy the drawing, you are in danger of mirroring the author's style and content exactly. You have to adapt the drawing to you own style.
So this is a good book, with a lot of theories on creating a cool scene by showing you different themes.
The book can be improved on if the author had shown the creatures from different angles, rather then induvidual scenes.
