Product Description

Product Description

Manga is the art craze that is sweeping the world. Japanese manga comics have spawned an entirely fresh approach to sequential artwork and have given new inspiration to artists. The influence of manga can now be seen in films, animation and comics the world over. This book goes back to basics explaining what the manga style is and the tools and materials needed. There then follows a series of tutorials on how to draw individual character elements such as eyes, hair, hands, and clothing. Subsequent step-by-step projects then show how to put all of the individual elements together to create an effective manga character.

this book has helped me so much as it has all the essentials to help the budding manga artist build up the ability in art, the book has many interpritations of different artists to see the different styles the artists use like chibi and the difference in age also it shows how to draw anatomy from the body to hand angles, this is a great book to have to build up skills and i would recomend it at anyone.

I bought the item as part of a birthday gift. The recipient had also received another 'how to draw comic figures' book but really liked this one as it gave a more indepth breakdown. This book also included how to draw hair which many of them don't.

'Sweat' the Small Stuff 6 Oct 2009
By J. Sherman - Published on Amazon.com
Written and illustrated by the folks at Sweatdrop Studios, a British distributor of original comics, "Draw Manga" is another jump on the Japanese pop bandwagon. Though the book provides artwork ranging from the sub-par to expert level, as well as some useful drawing tips, its step-by-step instructions start with the basics only to skip ahead to the advanced stuff and back again. Vital topics like figure drawing aren't even covered, instead saying that the perfect figure can be created by manipulating a single line. Look for the "How to Draw Manga" series for more serious direction.

This book is unrated but contains no offensive content.
