I wasn't too sure about getting a "Monopod" but I needed something that was easy to carry while out walking that was not bulky or heavy. Decided to buy this one because it was cheap, just to try it out. Well, pleasantly surprised, it does the job great...not as good as a tripod obviously, but better than holding your camera by hand or leaning on walls and fences. Also, I was very surprised at the strength of this monopod. I was expecting it to be quite flimsy, but it isn't, it is very sturdy in use.

Works well, but the legs need a bit of an effort to extend once unlocked. This will probably loosen in time. The monopod is light and no problem to carry with the strap, or secured to a bag.

I bought this as an alternative to the GoPole / GoPole Reach for using while snowboarding. This extends much further and while at full extension it can be a bit heavy on the arm over extended use, there weren't really any such issues when the extension was shortened. The go pro was easy to attach to the end of the monopod using cycling handlebar mounts, all I had to do was cut up an old inner tube and wrap the rubber around the end of the monopod to make it thick enough for the handlebar mount to clamp on to (no need to glue anything to the monopod). The bonus is that the poles of the monopod are oval in shape rather than circular, meaning there is no danger of the go pro accidentally rotating around the pole during use. Each pole extension feels very sturdy and did not seem to affect the footage. The other bonus is that the monopod collapses small enough to fit into a day sack so I could carry it around everywhere! The wrist strap was a bit short in length but it still fitted around my boarding mitts, I imagine that this would be even less of an issue with fingered gloves which tend to be smaller on the hand. Have not tested this as a monopod with my SLR & 80-200mm yet tho!
