Great little travel tripod, lightweight yet sturdy enough to hold a Nikon D7000 and a 70 - 300mm lens, although i would take extra care on a slop, i found i felt quite confident, leaving my camera so i could use remote shutter.

I wanted a light, compact tripod that I could use with my Panasonic Lumix LX-5. This tripod fits the bill perfectly. It extends to a very respectable 165cm (which is one of the main reasons I ordered it) and weighs just 1KG. It is a well finished tripod and lives up to the Manfotto reputation for quality. Although sturdy enough I wouldn't be inclined to use it for anything heavier than the lightest plastic bodied DSLR. For a compact camera it is perfect.

I got this last year as a lightweight set of legs for some daywork/photowalk sessions. Its brilliant and with the two lashings on my Manfrotto Agile I sling/backpack, its portable and not too conspicious as ordinarily with a full set of Manfrotto legs. The quick release plate is still working well after hundreds of mountings and releases, and the legs remain sturdily in place once the hasps have been snapped into place. I've even used it for client work with much more heavier glassware and it has not once failed. It is an ideal addition to any togger's hardware repertoire - at any level. £40 well spent in my book.

I ordered this on a Wednesday evening directly from Amazon, selecting free carriage, and it arrived on the Friday morning - can't be bad! This tripod is just what I need for mounting a compact camera. The ball mount is really good - it allows the camera to move in all directions, including 90 degrees in any direction, and locks rigidly and quickly. It won't hold a DSLR, I don't think, but the word "Compact" in the product name gives a clue there - although that applies to the tripod itself! As a fairly spindly 5-section legged tripod, when extended to full height it can move so may not be suitable for windy conditions, but that was expected - if I wanted something sturdier I would have bought something sturdier (and paid more than £40!) My main priority was for something that is compact when folded for easy carrying, and this meets that criteria.

All in all, just what I need at an excellent price, and now I can get on with time-lapse and HDR photos - not necessarily at the same time though!

I purchased this tripod for use with a Canon G12 camera. Because the price was so low for a Manfrotto ( I have used this brand for 20+ years) I expected something cheap. However, I am amazed at the quality of this tripod. The construction is top notch, aluminium legs, good locking mechanism, superb ball and socket head (for the G12)and very nicely finished. It is perfect for my needs; small and light, yet rigid when fully extended. If you have a high end compact then this tripod is very worthy of your consideration. I imagine it would also be quite suitable for Micro Two Thirds cameras and light DSLRs with modest lenses attached.

I have just uploaded 2 images, one shows this tripod next to my Manfrotto MMC3-01 Monopod and the other attached to my Amazon Basics photo rucksack.

This is a very compact but high quality tripod which can be carried anywhere you can take a monopod. There is very little difference. Of course in some situations its footprint will still be too large but for anyone who has either a compact, or small systems camera this tripod is ideal. I use it with my Panasonic GX7 with a variety of lenses upto 300mm and it offers excellent support. How it would be with a larger SLR I don't know but certainly for my equipment (GX7, G3, GM1) it is more than adequate.

The centre column is reversible which makes it very compact to carry and also offers the ability to get the camera really low. As 2 of my cameras have a WiFi link to my Android phone I don't even need to get low down to the viewfinder to use it.

Build quality is good, as you would expect on a tripod costing less than £50. I have had 3 compact tripods and this is the best so far.

Very compact and sturdy item, after taking into account that it is just 1Kgr and costs about 40 pounds. I would give it 5 stars but a slight annoyance held me back. That is the ball head which even after having tightened it up, with a camera+lens weighting up to 700gr (significantly less than the recommended 1.5Kgr) the camera leaned a little downwards messing with composure.

For the price and it is Manfrotto, this is great. The head is not easy to adjust, but once you fixed on a position, it is good to go for photo taking. Light to carry with me and good for light weight camera. I also use it for my Nikon 5100 with the kit lens.
