I wasn't really sold on the idea of a bag for a tripod, but just a few days after owning a Manfrotto 055XPROB with 701HDV video head, I realised it was a necessity. The bag itself is made of great, sturdy fabric with a special hard cover plastic at the top to protect your head and make for easier packing. The zip travels all the way around the hard plastic so you can just lift the panel up to take the tripod out of put it in, but if necessary the zip travels all the way down to fully open up the bag too.

Lightweight but strong bag that makes travelling a breeze!

Yup, its a bag. For a tripod.
Works exceptionally well at being a tripod bag. It fits my Manfrotto 190XPORB with 496RC2 ball head with ample room to spare.

Worth the money? Yes.

I bought this to fit a Manfrotto 055XPROB Pro Tripod Black with 804RC2 Head bought at the same time. The tripod bag is very well put together and has the quality and durability that is associated with the Manfrotto brand. The tripod and head fit very well (there is a little extra room, so a marginally bigger head / tripod combination wouldn't be impossible) and the design of the bag provides significant protection to the rather more fragile head end of the tripod.

For anyone that won't be using their tripod in a single location, I cannot recommend this enough. It's a great bag and much better for transporting a tripod than some of the cheaper options - especially when you consider the added protection that this bag provides.

I use this for my 055XPROB with a 498RC2 head.

At first it seemed like it did not fit! But, bend/point the head down and it's fine.

The bag is very well made and fits my kit. There's lots of space around it but almost none along the length, maybe I should have gone for the padded bag? I would imagine this would have been very snug all around. If you have any doubt order both and send back the one you don't want.

It certainly helps protect your precious kit when at home or out and about, it's light and looks great too.

A very nice bag. My only comment would be that the 'hardtop' lid with the logo is a bit large, making the bag a bit more cone shaped than the picture, but I like it!

Initially, when buying a Manfrotto Tripod, I didn't see the point of getting a bag for it, as it's quite a sturdy item that doesn't look like it will get damaged or suffer from exposure to the elements. Also, I had a camera bag which made provision for carrying a tripod on the side or top.

However, after going on a few trips into the countryside for wildlife photography it soon became evident how awkward and heavy a tripod can be, along with all the other gear you need to carry - like long lenses. I found that when attached to a bag, the tripod makes the whole thing more awkward and it would over-balance or fall off, catching on things. I started to notice that other photographers, were using smaller and lighter bags that couldn't accommodate a tripod and had this in a separate tube or carrying bag like this one.

The Manfrotto bag has the advantage that it's made specially for your tripod and means you can leave the head on and it still fits. It's as light and well-fitted as you could want/expect and feels very comfortable when carried over your shoulder. I find it by far the best way to carry a tripod around and will be using it in future, every time I venture outdoors with a tripod. Highly recommended.

I had been searching without any luck for a tripod bag which needed to be really wide at the top as my Manfrotto MK294A3-D3RC2 294 Aluminium Tripod Kit with 3 Way QR Head does not fold up very compactly on the head. I did not consider a Manfrotto bag as i assumed they'd be prohibitively expensive for what it was. Having received the bag, i nervously attempted to put my tripod inside and it fits perfectly.

The bag is robust, well made and the shoulder strap is very easy to adjust, the the padded head of the bag is an innovative and welcome addition as protection for the tripod head. At the price, I am more than a little impressed. If you are looking at the higher price range of tripod bags then you'll miss out on a major bargain if you dismiss this as 'Not costing enough to be much good'

I wish I'd found this years ago as it makes carrying as well as storing the tripod really easy.
Very high quality - as you would expect from Manfrotto - I highly recommend this product.
