It is for kids 3 Dec 2009
By Lion
You should ignore the previous review, as surely by now people understand the DVD Annual IS aimed at kids. Again its great viewing for them and if you want something for nephews or nieces who love United then get them this.

My only, slightly spoilt son has been a ManU fan since he was about 5, and he's nearly off to Uni now, so pretty much whatever ManU goodies come out for his b'day/Xmas, if I can afford it, he gets it. I have no interest in footy myself, but I did find myself watching this one along with him. It was interactive in parts, and I liked how the teammates seem to genuinely like each other and want to spend time socialising, and it was clear that some are BFF types. Yes, some of the linking bits were almost psychedelic and maybe should have come with a 'may induce a headache' warning, but it was a fun and informative DVD and it was nice to see how a former 'enemy' Michael Owen has been made so welcome by his new team and that he really seems to be enjoying his time there.

Don't take it so seriously, and you will quite enjoy it. I did, to my complete and utter surprise.

Don't buy this DVD unless you want a severe headache. Much of it has been ruined by super-fast intercutting, crazy camera angles and stuttering editing. [Why are most football DVDs and TV film reports ruined in this way? Sky, ESPN and ManU TV are well-practiced in this annoying artform. They seem to vie with one another on how not to show goals -- and, sure enough, this DVD suffers from that irritating affliction, too.] To cap it all, the voice-over clearly belongs to a reject from children's TV.

There are good things in this DVD (Ryan Giggs' best ever team, for example) but these are gems in a sea of mud.
