This review is a genuine review of the '''blu-ray''' (rather than an excuse to talk endlessly about what a great night, & a great acheivement).
I initially bought the dvd as soon as it was released, but I was quite disappointed by the quality of the recording.
Normally, my 'up-scaling' dvd player delivers a very-near-to 'high definition' experience... however, it didn't manage it this time.
(And, having been on the game, I'd been looking forward to watching a top quality recording of the 120 minutes, plus penalties).
This blu-ray makes up for that disappointment.
Whether you'd consider it as good as any other blu-rays, I wouldn't advise on that (I'm happy to stick with normal dvd's & 'up-scaling')... but, it is a significant improvement on the normal dvd, so it's a very satisfying 5-star score from me.
And, I look a bit clearer behind the goal (in the very brief clip, after John Terry misses his penalty).
