After losing out to Arsenal in the 2001-2002 season Manchester United were determined not to suffer another trophyless campaign. A bad start and a series of injuries to key players however made another barren year look extremely likely. But as the season reached its climax, Sir Alex Ferguson's team hit a run of form that carried them past the stuttering Arsenal to the top of the league and their eighth title in eleven years.
