5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Summary ! 21 July 1999
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
I was recently diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 29 weeks of pregnancy. My initial feelings included fear of the unknown. My doctor had sent me to see a nutritionist to discuss my diet. I found myself overwhelmed and afraid after my initial visit with the nutritionist. I found this book to be an informative guide to gestational diabetes and the risks associated with it. I feel more in control by further educating myself with the help of this wonderful book.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is a simple informative read. 21 July 1999

Format:Paperback
I was upset to learn I had gestational diabetes, but this book is very reassuring and informative. Dr.Peterson is complete in her explinations and guidelines. It followed very closely with my OBs recommendations. I have referred to for comfort several times since purchase. I would recommend this book, especially if it is the only one you buy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Informative, perhaps a little out of date 12 Mar 2012
By Sarah
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I believe this book was published around 1994 and for an American market so not everything will be accurate - for example the glucose blood test ranges do not match up with what my hospital here in the UK uses. However - it is a very informative book and no doubt if you have been diagnosed with this it is important to know as much about it as possible.
