Product Description

Product Description

Grouped into a number of linked sections the manual begins with the general principles and specific practice of Achieving Excellence; this leads into the next three parts: Leading Effectively Managing People and Coaching Successfully. Excellence also depends on mastering technical skills. These are discussed in Managing Projects Thinking Strategically Managing Budgets and Understanding Accounts. Every manager needs these skills often on a daily or weekly basis. Selling Successfully and Marketing Effectively cover a wide range of skills. Once the fear of selling has been overcome the techniques of effective salesmanship can be mastered. However salespeople can only operate well within a context of effective marketing - using a host of ways to give the customers what they want at a profitable prive that they are happy to pay. Whether the information in this book is familiar or new excellence will follow from understanding the facts absorbing the precepts and applying them. Effective management is defined as excellence in every respect and in every action.

I bought this book from my local bookstore and being a relatively in-experienced Project Manager, needed to gain a rapid over-view of other key business areas. This book helped, straight to the point and no complex jargon that cloud issues. A little pricey but still I feel an excellent top drawer reference for any manager.

Great Resource For Timely Tips 8 Mar 2007
By Jay Busari - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
This book is a well illustrated distillation of the large volume of books on leadership, management, coaching, project planning, strategy, budget and accounting, sales, marketing...whew!

It does cover a lot of important issues in a very concise manner, without compromising on the essence. For those who want to go beyond the quick reminders and tips offered in this book...at least, they will have an idea of what they need to look for among the countless books about management.

This book is well worth it to get the big picture on developing skills, styles, effectiveness and success in management.
