I have recently taken up a new Retail Management Role and have been placed in a 'problem' store. |Managing for the first time, is an inspirational tool into first time management helping me to overcome problems such as people who are stuck in their ways, and planning roles, goals and feedback to make an impact and increase credibility to the store and myself. What more can I say, I read the book in 60 minutes as I couldn't put it down and will definitely keep this book by my desk! Go on, buy it and let it help you develop yourself and your teams in a positive way!

I was recommended this book by my professional coach who knew the author. Cherry's book is really easy to read and understand - it's written in a slightly American-ey way - which I quite like in this context - it's bitesize information which is easy to apply. Great learning tool, particularly for the first time manager.

Very basic and short but that is its strength. Most managerial training manuals put you off before you start this gives you a chance to get some information as a first step.
