Product Description

...a beautiful book that tells a unique story created by two talented researchers and entrepreneurs... It is original, it is refreshing, it is brave and it will benefit all those who are able to change their minds, based on the current, well established and hardly ever challenged, belief that the future is predictable and controllable. --Dr J. Knezevic, MIRCE Akademy, UK, June 2014

Great work! Dense, clear and practical reading with brilliant case studies! It definitely deserves being an item in the own home library of those interested in Complexity Science. This book respects varied professional backgrounds and can be an excellent consultant in decision-making at work and in planning your next steps for the future. What I also think is that this book develops skills in comparative complexity research cross-over professional backgrounds and thus it has succeeded in showing and explaining the underlying laws there. This is what actually helps in decision-making because of the "out-of-box" logic noticed all the way through the entire text. I definitely recommend it.

Format: Hardcover
The most promising approach to managing complex systems that I have seen the last 15 years of research.
- And now presented in plain english for both technical and non-technical readers.

The book first gives a profound and revived view on what complexity is, and then shows how that view can be translated into practice with real world applications.

I wish there were more of this kind of books!

Exceedingly interesting book on a very hot topic! The strongest part is that the authors are very close to practice and the book includes real practical examples.

I've bought this book without any knowledge about multi-agent technology (MAT) or multi-agent systems (MAS). As a supply chain planning practitioner, I was simply looking to read something new on the subject. While the book is more about MAS design philosophy/architecture, there are multiple examples of how this technology could be adapted to solve really difficult real-life scheduling issues, including a very interesting story on how LEGO Brand Retail has approached challenges in retail outlet replenishment using MAT, why SAP F&R solution was not selected, how POS signal (point-of-sale) is being used and so on. More comprehensive, demand-driven, and frankly more fun than JDA’s flowcasting.
The book has other descriptions of commercial applications, including work done by the authors with Magenta Technology .
