Sustainable nature conservation demands balance between human needs and conservation priorities. The concept of sustainable forest management is important in community forestry in order to maintain existing ecosystem, to improve livelihood of community, and to enhance social capital. This book attempts to assess the existing forest management scenario, highlighting the condition and management practices of the forest resources in selected community forest in Central Nepal. Scientific and social parameters were employed in the book, and it is expected that the book will be interesting to National and International scientists, sociologist and research scholars who take interest in the forest management systems in Nepal.
About the Author
Mr. Shiva Devkota, MSc, MA. has been working as an Asst. Lecturer at Central Department of Botany, Tribhuvan University, Nepal and equally involves in numerous research programmes. He has published and presented more than a dozen of research papers. His field of interest is wild mushrooms, caterpillar fungus, lichens and biological anthropology.
