5.0 out of 5 stars The Best of Brian Tracy Time Management 2 Feb. 2014
By Maxamillion - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
I lost count, but I must own 80% of the books Mr. Tracy has published on the subject.

If you ever run across anyone who asks who Brian Tracy is (yes, those people still do exist), or needs to know quickly and easily how to manage their time, and why (those people actually still exist, too), then just refer them to this book.

If you haven't already read Time Power: A Proven System for Getting More Done in Less Time Than You Ever Thought Possible, this new book is quite possibly the absolute best distillation and refinement of everything he has written in his 30+ years of being the World's #1 Expert on Time Management, with no exaggeration.

While his other books may go a bit further into detail, as to how these ideas fit your exact situation, this book is an excellent summation of the subject. As Tracy says, 'You will become more' productive, more organized, more accomplished, and live a more fulfilled life... not because you lived a few years, but because you put more life into those years.

And the best part about this book? He has actually condensed some of the best research on the subject and made it available to everyone, for under $10.

This book is enough. If you want to go further, buy Goals!: How to Get Everything You Want -- Faster Than You Ever Thought Possible or How to Master Your Time [on CD].

But begin with this book. Everyone can afford it. Everyone with a basic knowledge of English can read it, and everyone can benefit from it in someway in his/her life.

2.0 out of 5 stars How did this slip back into print? 2 Mar. 2014
By Remi Lillelien - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
Even though there are some "timeless" techniques in this book, The rest of it is hopelessly outdated (do you keep your files in your briefcase or on your laptop?, rolodex anyone?).
The original of this must have been printed in the mid to late 90's. The corporate landscape has changed dramaticly since then.
Wish Mr.Tracy would update it for the socialmedia and networking world of today.

5.0 out of 5 stars Read this book and start saving time now 5 Feb. 2014
By Daniel B. Beaulieu - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
This is the latest in Brain Tracy’s series aimed at helping all of us to be better managers, sale people and over all better business people.
In this small but powerful volume Tracy focuses on time management which is something we can all be better at. And what better way to help us with time management than by writing a book on the subject that can be read in one sitting? Ike all of the books in this series this one cuts to the chase dealing only in the most pertinent facts, tips and guidelines without wasting our time in the process.
As a tried and true procrastinator the chapter on that subject was particularly appropriate for me; truth be known it was the chapter I went to first even though it was chapter thirteen and on page 67. Listen to this:
“The truth is that everyone procrastinates…But if everyone procrastinates what is the difference between the high producer and the low producer?
“Simple. The high producer procrastinates on task and activities of low or now value. The lower producer procrastinates on tasks that have considerable value…you have to engage in “creative procrastination””
In other words create a triage of the task you have to do and then set them in order of priority. Yes that is simple enough isn’t it?
And here is another bit of advice we certainly can all use:
“Use e-mail as a servant.” Most of us do the opposite; we have become a servant to our email. We even program our devices to set off some sort of alarm when a new e-mail arrives. And then we cannot help but look at that device in case some sort of earth shattering e-mail has arrived…which is seldom the case by the way. Instead Tracy advises that we have set times several times a day to look at our e-mails while we do more important things throughout the day.
Of and here’s one that will scare the heck out of you, he recommends deleting all of your e-mails once in a while! Yikes! Here is what he says:
“A busy journalist told the story of going to Europe for two weeks. His e-mail was inaccessible for the entire time. When he returned he had more than 700 messages waiting for him. He knew that it would take him many hours, even several days to go through 700 e-mails. So he took a deep breath and pressed ‘delete all’… and he was right; 90 percent of the e-mails the he deleted were never repeated, and the ones that he deleted that were important ones were resent within a few days.”
So let me ask you, are you ready to give that a try? Think about it.
And then think about buying this book. For just ten bucks you are going to get all of the time management advice you will ever need. And by spending about an hour with this little volume you will save yourself hours if not days of time. Its worth it don’t you think?
