If you buy this expecting to see a biopic similar to Ray or walk the line then think again. This TV movie due to the lack of licensing doesn't feature one Michael Jackson song instead it has muted musical performances from an impersonator. The acting is awful. The editing is terrible, it looks as though it has been filmed with a camcorder at times. The production is a complete mess.
The same Actor plays Michael from the late 70's to 2003 and to compensate the changes that we've seen Michael go through in that time they simply cover the guy in white powder or something! You can see his actual skin tone underneath.
The cliched dialogue is almost laugh out loud funny. When Michael meets Martin Bashir for the first time he say's "if I can't trust you who can I trust" and when talking about his 2001 concert at Madison square garden saying that tomorrows headlines will be a day to remember (the night before 9/11). Come on!!!
Then there's the incredibly cheesy ending in which Michael goes on trial and the film ends there with a group of people looking solemnly at the camera one by one. It's clear that the film was rushed out by amateur producers to coincide with the trial, not even bothering to see the outcome of it.
If you want a better film about Michael Jackson check out the Jacksons: An American Dream, at least that actually features many Jackson 5 and MJ songs and isn't as poorly put together as this rubbish. Unfortunately its only available from the US so you'll need a multi region player. Michael would never endorse this rubbish. Avoid it!!!
