5.0 out of 5 stars Fine contemporary blues CD 16 Aug 2009

Absolutely rock-solid contemporary blues, well-sung and well-played throughout. This guy should be much better known than he is.
5.0 out of 5 stars Essential for blues and blues/rock fans 10 April 2008
By R J - Published on
Format:Audio CD
Once in a while you find a CD that makes your jaw drop to the floor when you hear it. This is one of them. Great guitar work, amazing vocals, and some good blues harp too. Track 6, "Four in the Morning," is a standout slow blues cut, worth the price of the CD by itself. As of this writing there are no audio samples available on Amazon, but a sample of "Four in the Morning" can be heard at Fans of the great Rory Gallagher, SRV, Nine Below Zero, Walter Trout ... this is a worthy addition to your collection.
5.0 out of 5 stars another brilliant guitarist that should be well known 27 Dec 2006

Another superb guitarist / singer / songwriter that has flown under the radar. If you like the blues a la SRV, this is up there with the best of them. Great songs, great guitar work in the SRV style without ripping the master off. No dud tracks and some choice guitar work as well as great vocals, make this a must have. In the ALBERT CUMMINGS class.

5.0 out of 5 stars Monti Rocks 10 Mar 2009
By Norbert Neel - Published on
Format:Audio CD
I met Monti when he was about 20 after he had joined up with a couple of my friends in a band called Nomad -- a three piece power trio. They had been playing together only a couple of weeks. We went to the basement so they could record some tracks. When they started up I got chills down my spine. When he sang Tobacco Road I was completely blown away -- especially when he did a falsetto scream that gave me goose bumps -- simply the best version of that song I have EVER heard!Every live show of his is simply mind boggling. This album rates up with any of the best I have ever purchased,he is simply unique, and his style actually predates SRV and many others of that style. To Monti's credit he inspired my own style , not to copy, but the shear ferocity and soul of the playing.Buy any Monti CD and be prepared to be wowed! He is an American original.
