4.0 out of 5 stars Very impressed 30 May 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
It was the Jubilee sale that brought me to this. Although I recognized none of the writers' names, for £1 I thought, why not? The Jubilee sale is also the reason I'm writing this a bit prematurely, only perhaps 1/3 of the way through; the sale doesn't last long.

So far, at least, none is a detective story; all cover the crime itself. Some stories have been acceptable and workmanlike, but no more: I was left not regretting the purchase, but pleased not to have paid full price. However, some have been of great power and originality, truly first class work. I would pick out Death in the Time Machine as the best of a good crop, and also mention Whole Life for a sympathetic view of the guiltless mother of a murderer as she loses her wretched little cleaning jobs and no-one will talk to her.

Short verdict: I've just bought volumes 7 and 8, so I must be pretty pleased with this one.
