Format:Audio CD
Boubacar Traore has had a long and distinguished musical career and it is great to hear him again after a gap of quite a few years since his last album.
This album is in the same vein as his last few albums. Indeed some of the songs are so similar that I thought they were the same ones, but it seems not. It doesn't matter because, similar or not, the quality is exceptional. Great acoustic guitar, harmonica and haunting blues singing. Very moving, very relaxing. If you like Maliian blues music this is an essential buy.
I also highly recommend the DVD of Je Chanterai Pour Toi which is about his life and which includes some superb performances by him and other giants of Malian music.

This man makes the best blues. Fullstop. It is so good to have a new Boubacar album to listen to, not that I ever tire of the old ones, just I worry about wearing them out. This is the man who sings and plays from the heart, accompanied by the finest musicians available. Check the harmonica! Marvel at the bass! Wallow in the glorious sound of blues beaming from their ancestral (and modern) home. Buy this album!

I first heard this man on a Radio New Zealand programme and was very impressed. I did some research and realised that I had missed many previous recordings. This recent one encapsulates the stories of a humble man, passionate about his family, village life and equality for all on this precious earth. The balance of percussion, voice and guitar is perfect without losing the intimacy of the pieces.
Youtube allows excellent previews of music and artists and helps enormously when purchasing CDs or tracks and is a major tool for confirmation of choice.
