Very good horror story. Much better than SAW2. Very Laymon like, the way it shows off every character superficially, but weaves the whole story cleverly in an almost seemless way, where these characters bump into each other. Its the actions and re-actions that make it so interesting. You can't anticipate what happens next,as the story line is simple but creative all the way through. Very Laymon like. The herione is Samantha Dark ( cool name for horror actress and she is good), but it is the direction of this film that impresses me. Gore, murder, captivity, wrong place wrong time, guns, knives, tape, bones, blood, money etc are evenly spaced out which again adds to the the interest, as you don't know which is coming next.

3.0 out of 5 stars Standard slasher fare 13 Dec 2008
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
The film starts by the dissapearance od six year old Martin Bristol, and theres a scene showing a young boy(presumably Bristol) being forced to witness a horrific murder.
Ten years later. The present. A group of bank robbers bungle a heist, and one is fatally wounded. They split up, one taking a mother and young daughter hostage when his car breaks down. The remaining gang members head for the rendezvous where they agreed they should meet. They are not alone however, and soon are in danger from a mysterious assailant with murder on his mind.
This is a competant film that tells its story in a straightforward, no-thrills manner, without ever rising above its station to thrill the audience. The film feels like a homage to the 80's slasher genre, and fans of the originals will like the uncomplicated approach of this effort, shorn of any post modern pretensions, or knowing winks at the audience.
Enjoyable enough, but nothing new to be found here. 3 out of 5
