Fantastic male nude photography in terms of artistic and aesthetic content. Something inspiring and again aesthetic in terms of male body art and masculinity. This book is excellent photography work.

The MALE NUDES INDEX is a unique book, small in size (5 X5 X 2 inches!) that holds over 1000 photographs by artists who photograph the male nude. As the promo states 'Male Nudes Index shows us the whole beauty of the male body. The volume leads us through an offering of almost a thousand pictures taken from the point of view of various photographers of international repute. Here, we find the classical study, from author photography to conventional nude photography: the detailed address section of the book's appendix gives all those interested the possibility of contacting the individual photographer.'
The photographs show a wide range of techniques and of artist considerations of capturing the model. The insights gained into lighting, use of (or not) draping or clothing. The book is a solid collection of of male nude images but it is far more than that. Within the covers of this 'directory' are many resources for new models seeking representation in the industry as well as for students of figurative photography who want to examine as many professional forms of this art as possible. And for photographic artists already engaged in the field of creating images of male nudes, this is like a little seminar of sharing without the need to purchase a full scale book by every artist admired. Good thick-- but small book!

First, the bad things. This book does not come very cheap. Also, it is very small in dimensions! Only about 5X6! I don't understand what the obsession is with other countries publishing photography books in tiny sizes. (If I recall correctly, this book was not made in USA). I've always preferred an art/photography book that was at least about 8X12. But the good thing is that it is a very fat book! Over 600 pages at least! Mostly color photos. Some black and white throughout but not too many. Some very nice pictures, too. However, don't expect every guy in this book to look good. As the photography has a "real and natural" feel to it, there are somes guys of different shapes and sizes. Not all look like muscular models. Overall, very good quality in the quantity of pages, but could've been much bigger.
