Another fine Australian Women's Weekly book, this covers deceptively simple Malaysian recipes.
These aren't meals that have dozens of ingredients but taste of nothing, they're fragrant and richly spiced treats. The book is laid out simply, with mouth-watering photographs for each recipe, and straightforward cooking instructions. The pages are fairly small too, so you can have it open on the worktop without losing a lot of space. Ideal when you've forgotten what goes in next!
I have to mention in closing that the satay recipe is the best I've ever tasted, and the easiest to make - it's all prepped in advance, then it's just a case of adding to the pan at the right time. Pretty much foolproof!

This Malaysian cookbook is really really authentic. I have made quite a few of the recipes and they have turned out wonderful. Recipes explained very well. The quality of the book - although second hand was "as new"

I got this book hoping to find some authentic recipes but it turned out to be a complete disappointment. Women's weekly's English recipes and bakery books are far more promising.
