A Very Helpful Book on Dealing with Marriage Problems 24 Mar 2000
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I've read a number of self-help books on marriage, and this is the best by far. The "Dummies"-style organization makes the book extremely user-friendly. I can find useful information on just about any aspect of marriage--whether it's dealing with in-laws, disputes over money, love-making issues, or dividing up household chores.

Drs. Sue and Steve Simring are not only experts on the subject of marriage and skilled writers. They also bring the in-the-trenches wisdom of their own thirty year marriage to the table. Reading "Making Marriage Work For Dummies" gives me a real sense of what it takes to keep my relationship strong, and deal with problems as they come up.

Highly recommended!

Making Marriage work for dummies 3 Aug 2003
By M Robertson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I think everyone who has been married should have a chance to read this book. It is so easy to read, so encouraging and to the point. The authors are fantastic. Because of what I have read in this book I have changed, on my own and in a very positive way. My spouse and I talked, and are going through marriage counseling. Something we would not have done if I had not read this book.

Thank you "for dummies" for making life simplier.

Decent basis for discussion 13 April 2012
By Susan Ida Zacharias - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book outlines techniques for arguing and understanding your partner pretty well. It has some detail about things you and your partner can do to spice up your relationship and open lines of communication. However if you are looking for a serious in depth book to heal deep wounds this book does not stretch that far. I know some things are only for counselors to fix but I have read other books that have gone into more detail when it comes to specific relationship problems. This book also downplays some issues that I would consider serious problems in a troubled relationship. All in all this is a decent book to start anaylizing your situation with, but it wont save you the expensive therapy trips.
