great book,

This is a great book on the history of F13. The author has a real passion for the films. Well at least the first 4. The book really comes up trumps though with the various different interviews with cameo actors. For the price you really can't go wrong. One snag is that the author is not really a true F13 fan. For instance he is quite critical of the movies Part 5 to Jason X. That aside well worth purchasing for the price.

Making Friday the 13th by David Grove is the most painstakingly researched and informative work that I have read for some considerable time ( well, since the previous FAB Press release, SHOCK ! HORROR!)There is a wealth of minute details regarding how each film came to be made & where some of the participants are today - some have gone on to stardom whilst others have pursued careers or activities outside the business. Many myths & rumours about missing scenes are dispelled or confirmed so that age old discussions amongst film buffs can now be laid to rest ! The book abounds with interesting photos of behind the scenes & what the locations look like today. The tone of the book is factual rather than just being a eulogy to the series : however, I must be one of the chosen few to have enjoyed Jason X ( the 'space' one ) & disagree with any detractors ! I would consider this book to be an essential addition to any film fan's collection & will use it as a reference after re watching the movies !! Get your copy of the book before it's sold out & on E Bay!!!

Extensive, Well Researched Book,

I really liked the book. I thought it was one of the most informative and well researched film books I've read in a long time. Lots of interesting production information, especially on the early Friday the 13th films. My only complaint is that the author is very hard on the later films in the series. Otherwise, very good read.
