Like many, I suppose I only ever think of Richard Kiel as being the tall guy with the steel teeth in two Bond movies ... whilst he was, this wonderfully put-together autobiography takes the reader much further, and with it on a rollercoaster ride through the film business. Kiel is a talented writer and actor, and I was fascinated to read of him being a producer too, and the 'adventures' he had is setting up finance and 'selling' his movie.
Beyond Bond Kiel appeared in virtually every tv series of the 60s and 70s, from The Twilight Zone, The Monkees, I Dream Of Jeannie and many others. Other notable movies include Pale Rider with Clint Eastwood and Force Ten From Navarone with Robert Shaw and Harrison Ford.
Kiel is a very caring and gentle man, passionate about many important environmental issues but he never loses his wondeful ability to tell a story without being preachy and with good humour along the way.
I'd say if you were a Bond fan, this book is a must. If you're a general movie and tv fan, this book is a must. And if you just like a good read, this book is a must!!
