This book has a nice collection of designs for various bits of furniture. All with cutting lists and drawings, plus a bit of explanation as to the visual effect of various mouldings and shapes, which is helpful in understanding what goes to make up a particular style.
However, it is assumed that you know how to do intermediate/advanced carpentry and there are no step-by-step instructions; for each set of drawings and measurements it just says 'assemble the back panel and join the sides next' etc.
Once I have learnt a bit more about woodworking I suspect I will find this a very useful source of ideas. For now, I only feel confident tackling about a quarter of the projects.
It is also nice to see a book like this - it doesn't assume you own a huge number of power tools or use any MDF or plywood!
