no read it yet and wasn't expecting a boob this size, wow its big, way over A4, I was going to take it on a plane to read but in cattle class its just too big for the tray or your lap on a flight , very impressive, not read it yet as finishing another book off but so farf all looking good, excellent supplier who despite my reservations of it coming from usa and possibly being hit with customs charges never materialised. very happy.

This book is in its most part an autobiography of Dr. Bez focusing on his Aston Martin years. It's very well written, it flows well and tells you about the man and a few anecdotes about the company. If you're ever lucky enough to own a DB9 or another one of the models created under Dr. Bez's leadership, this book gives a good if slightly dispassionate insight into the people the made it all happen.

With it being published by teNeues, one of Europe's leading coffee table publishers, the thing that surprised me about this book was the poor graphic execution. The text is large and lavishly spaced making this book almost 3kg. As a result, the photos are small and far between, and many are not much larger than a stamp in order to fit the deluge of text.

All in all, with a good bit of text editing and a more generous approach to laying out the images, this would have been a 5 star book. Fans of the brand and of the man will enjoy it nonetheless.

I had the dubious pleasure in knowing Dr Bez. He is one of the most arrogant and egotistical people I have ever met. He claims successes that were not down to him and were in place before he joined the company. Most of it is fiction and self adulation, and simply not true. This is the man that inherited a successful and profitable company and via his string of new product business decisions ( some acceptably very attractive) brought the company to it's knees financially. As a designer he was ok but as a business man and head of a company he was a disaster. One of the worst books on Aston Martin I've read.

A book totally dominated by the Writers EGO. BUT it does make an Efficient DOORSTOP.
