Well as a liker of single malt Scotch, this is a bit of a change of pace for me. Compared to the equivalent drinks from Jack Daniels and Jim Beam, this is worlds apart. Far superior. It still have a bit of a rough edge to it compared to a good single malt but that is to be expected.

JD and JB are basically now mixing fodder. Or heavily on the rocks. This however can be sipped neat or with a drop of water and not embarrass itself like the other brands. Sure it is slightly more expensive but not shockingly so unless the other brands are on offer. Even if they are on offer this is still worth the extra.

A lovely bourbon, DO NOT ADD ANY MIXERS OR ICE, this must be enjoyed straight. I must in all collections.

This is currently my favourite Bourbon and has been for many years. I have also tried Rowan's Creek and Willett Pot and I have a bottle of Bulleitt on order just in case, with Eagle Rare on my saving-up-to-buy list - but, at the end of a day on the ale with the lads, a slug of this with ice (sorry, purists) is very refreshing and remains my default setting. 'Wheated' Bourbons like Maker's Mark are in the minority. You might want to read about the different styles of Bourbon before committing ... and as you do so, be prepared to groan when you see the lower prices they pay in the US!

A really special whiskey bourbon - big in the game as they say - a splash of H2O is all that is required - better than JD by a mile! also gives Scottish malts a run for their money - great price too.
Hope they do not run out as I will be ordering more!

I bought this for my husband for Christmas. He persuaded me to try it and although I'm not normally a lover of Bourbon, this the best Bourbon I've ever tasted. It is best on it's own with a little ice. It may be great for cooking but I'll never know as it would be a crying shame to waste it. My advice is to use Jack Daniels instead.

If you like Makers Mark, then buy this as firstly the price is very competitive and secondly, the packaging is bubble wrap on steroids. WOnderful on all accounts.

Other than "home brew",Makers Mark is the BEST of Kentucky bourbons. What ever you do, DON"T use ice! Don't know what crackpot recommends ice in the description for Makers Mark.Good bourbon should always be served neat, never iced, and never use as a mixer.Use the cheap stuff for mixing or on the rocks. If you come to Kentucky and drink bourbon on the rocks,we'll escort you to Tennessee where you can drink sour mash on the rocks! Also, don't use a glass........we drink it straight from the bottle! ENJOY! Don't drink irresponsibly.....drink straight from bottle!
