101 things to do with a squash!
This book is a cauldron of great ideas, which has broadened my repertoire of recipes. It's so easy to do the same boring old thing with vegetables, which is why I really appreciate this book. There are simple ideas for every day and some really inventive recipes such as pumpkin souffle and squash mousse (my favourite). I like the focus on one type of veg - squashes, courgettes and pumpkins and there's a section on growing them too.

A really good book for getting going with a vegetable I've tended pass over. I've tried a couple of the recipes and they're very good and very easy to follow. I'm not a novice cook but there's plenty there for someone who is. While it's good for veggies I think it's also nice to have a recipe book of this type that caters for meat-eaters (like me) too. The cover implies it's more for veggies but there's plenty for everyone. It tells you how to grow them too.
I bought it with Make More of Beans & Peas which I've yet to try recipes from but it's obviously from the same stable.
