Erasure "Tomorrow's World"

Biography

Following the disbandment of the short-lived synth pop group Yazoo, former Depeche Mode member Vince Clarke formed Erasure in 1985 with singer Andy Bell. Like Yaz and Depeche Mode, Erasure were a synth-based group, but they had stronger dance inclinations, as well as a sharper, more accessible sense of pop songcraft, than either of Clarke's previous bands. Furthermore, Erasure had the flamboyantly… Read more in Amazon's Erasure Store

Erasure made me smile with this super cool maxi-single 24 Feb 2005
By Manuel J. Villalobos Murillo - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This is an amazingly well produced set of songs.

1. Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me) [Edit] - Really cool shortened version of the album track.

2. Make Me Smile [Dan Frampton Radio Mix]- AWESOME!!! Superficial listeners may not notice but the sound engineering in this song is amazing. More guitars can be heard throughout, etc. The mix is very close to the album track but with some really nice sounding extras.

3. Make Me Smile [Manhattan Clique Extended Mix] - Really nice long dance club style mix. It contains samplings from "Breath of Life" and "Run to the Sun." Sounds Extremely well when played on good surround sound equipment. The production is outstanding, and the cristal clear three-dimentionality of the sound is definitely something you don't find in every recording.

4. Walking in the Rain [37B Remix] - Far better than the album track. Chorus contains a nice upbeat rythm.

5. When Will I See You Again [37B Remix] - I love both the album track as well as this version. Remix contains some extras that make it very pleasing to listen.

6. Can't Help Falling in Love [Acoustic] Perhaps my favorite erasure acoustic version yet. Andy shows he is an amazing performer. The acoustic guitar is sweet, and the pace and mood of the song are breath-taking.

7. Solsbury Hill [Multimedia Track]- Don't watch this video- Andy looks terrible... the song is so good it really deserved a much more positive and brighter looking video than this. Andy appears dressed in drag? wearing a corsette and terrible (TERRIBLE) make-up. He looks sick. I regret seeing the video: now the images pop up in my mind as I listen to the song (which is really good).
For the non-casual fan. 21 Feb 2004
By Kevin - Published on Amazon.com

If you're more a casual fan, I wouldn't recommend this. However, if you own everything, or you're a big fan of their newer stuff, i'd definitely recommend this one. This, together with the Solsbury Hill single essentially make up another album. There's no new b-sides on this one. But the Dan Frampton mix improves on the original single. The remix of Walking in the Rain also is much better than the album version. The single is worth it alone for the remix of When Will I See You Again (my favorite off of Other People's Songs) and the acoustic version of Can't Help Falling in Love. Unlike some of their other "acoustic" songs, this is an actual acoustic guitar-only song, and is much better than the album version. Basically if you're a huge fan, or just loved Other People's Songs, get this--you won't be disappointed. (You also want to make sure you get the Solsbury Hill single--one of the best singles they've released).
Good Song, Not As Good A Single 25 July 2003

I loved this song and the album it comes from but I didn't enjoy this as much as the Solsbury Hill CD Single before it. If you're a ie hard fan this might be a must have for the video and the remixes that aren't to be found anywhere else. If you're a casual fan I'd suggest getting the album and not this CD Single.
