Book Description

6 Oct 2011

Tatty Devine are the cult jewellery brand of this generation. Named one of the top 50 coolest brands in the world by Dazed and Confused, their pieces are individual, brim with personality, and are the most covetable accessories around. Within three months of making their first piece in a tiny studio off Brick Lane in 1999, Tatty Devine's founders, Harriet Vine and Rosie Wolfenden, had Harvey Nichols and Browns stocking their fledgling line, and Vogue shooting their first collection.

In How To Make Jewellery With Tatty Devine, Harriet and Rosie bring their decade-plus experience of accessory-making to the page, with a quirky, creative guide to making your own stunning jewellery. The book includes basic techniques for making your own rings, necklaces, earrings, cuffs and more, as well as various pieces for you to make, created by Tatty Devine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just lovely! 28 Oct 2011
Format:Hardcover
This is so much more fun than your average craft book! From start to finish this book is great. It shows you the basics of how to make jewellery, from the tools you need, to how to construct jewellery by gluing, cutting, filing, beading, where to buy the components and how to put them together. It also gives you good ideas for how to style the jewellery into your wardrobe. Some of the things it shows you how to make are real statement pieces!

The thing I like best about this book is that it helps you make all those precious bits and bobs you have lying around into jewellery. My bedroom is littered with cute little things which I really love, but don't really have a use. This book inspires you to make those special little items into really fun and personal jewellery.

Not only does this book gives you the basic skills to make basic jewellery, but it gives you real food for thought of how to think about jewellery differently and make really fun pieces which are really personal to you!

5.0 out of 5 stars A gem! 15 Dec 2011
Format:Hardcover
I love (making, buying, hoarding - well just having) jewellery and I do love a bit of Tatty ... so is this the perfect combination?

YES! It looks lovely, is utterly inspirational, great as a how to with tips and is the total perfect christmas gift. What more could anyone ask for?

Basically I am now feeling very good about myself ... and this Christmas, I will be passing that feeling on by giving this book to my nearest and dearest :-)))

5.0 out of 5 stars Tatty Devine - fab fun book 27 Dec 2011
By Miss
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
Really lovely fun jewelry book - instantly gives you an inspirational feel - and invokes your creativity. Very well explained - and I agree with the last review - makes you wander around your house looking at things and wondering if you can turn them into exotic fun jewelry ! Possibly not for people wanting to create classic gold jewelry - unless they are seeking inspiration - but we were absolutely enthralled !

When I think of Tatty Devine I think of her rockabilly work in enamel, laser cut plastic, mirror etc, not plastic crystals stuck on card or nasty crisp packets. Read more
